There are many options available for individuals who wish to get away for a vacation. Some of those options could include golf vacations, fishing and hunting trips, spa vacations, etc.
In addition, many choose to take vacations in which travel to the vacation spot is, in itself, a vacation. An example of this type of vacation could be a train trip.
Another popular vacation is a cruise. There are many advantages to this type of vacation. Those advantages include involvement in various activities on the ship. Some of those activities include swimming, gambling, fine dining, dancing, etc.
However, there are a few disadvantages of taking this type of vacation. One of those disadvantages is sea sickness. Fortunately, to help control this condition, there is available a sea sickness patch. Understanding what a sea sickness patch is and how it operates can help an individual enjoy a vacation cruise.
What Is A Sea Sickness Patch?
There are many solutions available that can aid in the control or prevention of sea sickness. One of those preventative measures it is to take motion sickness medication. Two of those specific types of medications are Meclizine and Dramamine. These medications can be taken in different milligram strength and often can be taken up to three times daily. In addition, it is important that these sea sickness control medications be taken prior to the event that may cause any motion sickness.
Another tool that is available for the individual who suffers from sea sickness is a patch. In fact this may be the best method to utilize in the prevention of sea sickness. This is especially true if an individual wants to take a cruise and sea sickness is a concern. A patch simply needs to be applied three hours prior to the cruise or when rough waters may be a concern.
How A Patch Works
A sea sickness patch simply needs to be placed on the skin behind the ear. This is accomplished as one side of the patch has the medication applied to it and in order to cling to the skin is sticky in nature.
This patch is not only convenient, but the medication is slowly absorbed over a three day period. This is especially helpful if an individual is taking a cruise and sea sickness is a concern. The vacationer simply applies the patch, forgets about further doses and enjoys the cruise.
However, there maybe side effects and it is important to know what those are. Some of those side effects could include sleepiness, blurring of vision, decrease in perspiration and dryness of the mouth.
Also, it is important that when handling the patch, the individual follow the instructions on the package and keep the product away from their eyes. Avoiding contact with the eyes with the patch should occur directly and indirectly. That indirect contact could come through the possible touch of the eye with a finger.
