Sea sickness is something that usually happens during rough seas and when you are in a relatively small boat which gets affected by the rough waters. Most cruise liners and bigger ships are relatively stable and heir size can prevent sea sickness from occurring unless the seas are rough. Although, called seas sickness, motion sickness is more appropriate for the nauseous feeling one gets when affected by the movement. This is caused by sudden, unexpected movements which we experience when on board a vehicle or any form of transportation.

These kinds of foods react with our stomach and contribute to the nausea and the queasy feeling that causes you to vomit. In pretty much the same way, an empty stomach aggravates the nauseous feeling and causes you to feel queasy. To prevent sea sickness, you must eat a little food that is not known to encourage a queasy stomach. It is also important to drink a lot of water but not to the point of having a full stomach to prevent sea sickness.

Keeping yourself occupied during a boat ride can help prevent sea sickness. Although, not effective for rough seas, this remedy may work for light sea sickness and nausea. Doing something that occupies your mind may help alleviate nausea. Taking some time to appreciate your surroundings and the wide ocean can also keep you from feeling motion sickness.
Preventing sea sickness is a priority for some people who do not enjoy traveling. It is best to get to know the various ways to prevent sea sickness other than to suffer this condition overtime you travel.
